Starting a new business is ........

Well, the joys and pitfalls of starting a new business are pushing my stress buttons!  I am trying to get my new bead and jewelry business together and finding it a bit overwhelming at times.  I have decided on a business name, ordered business cards and a poster for when I do shows.  I am making a lot of beads, but can't keep up with interest right now - A GREAT problem!  I registered my domain name, am building my website, and trying to decide on a domain server.  I have my iphone on order (Thanks DH!)  and am looking forward to downloading the app so I can take credit cards.  I am preparing for my first "craft show"  and planning an open house for December.  Unfortunately, I also have a fulltime job and family!! LOL  It will all be great... just the process is daunting at times.  I feel like the girl in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - I WANT IT NOW!!

I feel better already just getting it out there...back to work and later bead making.

What makes my world better....

I love being a teacher!  I love watching the light bulb go off when a student finally understands or when an activity I plan to help the students really works well.

My class this year is fabulous!   The key has been that they are respectful and have beautiful manners.  How much easier my job is when the students listen, are eager to learn and are appreciative of the "extras".

I look forward to teaching every day and am so happy to have time with these children.

Starting...

Well...I finally did it.  This is my first blog.  Random musings about life.  I am a classic "life-long learner".  I love to learn new things, research, and plan.  I am a teacher, wife, mom, and hobby enthusiast!  My newest passion is lampworking.  I began in May, and now have a full studio in my basement..It is amazing to heat the glass and watch it change and form into little works of art.  I am enthralled with each new bead I create.  My nephew who is 11 was here two weeks ago, and asked if I could make a turtle bead.  We ended up making several versions and they turned out really cute!  I'll post pictures eventually.
